Broker

A broker ( stock exchange) broker , intermediary or middleman is responsible as a financial service provider for the execution of securities orders from investors , the brokerage . To this end, he trades securities (e.g. shares , foreign exchange , electricity, goods , raw materials ) on stock exchanges and over-the-counter trading venues for the account of the customer . For the transactions it receives a commission fee , the so-called commission or brokerage .

The field of responsibility of a broker can also include consulting activities , within which he creates analyzes and reports on markets (→  market analysis ), industries and companies. Furthermore, some brokers offer their customers security recommendations based on their analyzes.

In contrast to traders , brokers always work for someone else's account ; unlike stock brokers , brokers are also allowed to serve private customers . The fees charged by the merchants are called ticket fees .
