Operation Résurrection

The Opération Résurrection was a project by the French military to overthrow the government of the Fourth Republic .

After the coup d'état in Algeria on May 13, 1958, the island of Corsica was taken over by a paratrooper battalion on May 24th . In a second phase it was planned to take over power with airborne troops and tank units in Paris and to appoint Charles de Gaulle as prime minister.

After de Gaulle was nominated Prime Minister by President René Coty on June 1, 1958, the military operation in Paris did not take place.
