Rhamnus lycioides subsp. oleoides is a subspecies of Rhamnus lycioides from the genus buckthorn ( Rhamnus ).

description

Rhamnus lycioides subsp. oleoides is a shrub . The species reaches a stature height of 60 to 100, rarely up to 200 centimeters. The gray bark is reddish on the thorns. The leaves are alternate, obovate, evergreen, leathery and have entire margins or have one or two teeth at their tips. The length of the leaves is rarely from 6, usually 10 to 23 millimeters. The flowers arranged in clusters are found in the leaf axils . The color of the fruits is black, red or yellowish.

The flowering period extends from April to May.

Occurrence

Rhamnus lycioides subsp. oleoides occurs in the Mediterranean region (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Turkey, Greece with Crete, Italy with Sardinia and Sicily, Malta, southern France, Spain with the Balearic Islands and Portugal) and grows in Kermes oak forests and Phrygana .
