Open Artwork System Interchange Standard
The Open Artwork System Interchange Standard ( OASIS ) is a data format for storing hierarchical design data in the field of Electronic Design Automation (EDA).
OASIS is a registered trademark of Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) and is written down in the SEMI P39 specification.
OASIS was developed as the successor to the widely used GDSII data format, as it offers several advantages:
- files 10 to 50 times smaller on average
- 64-bit arithmetic
- unlimited number of drawing levels
