The bow of a bow rider

As a motor sports boat, the Bowrider is a type of sport boat (mostly glider ) with an open front deck.

Bowrider (also Open Bow) is an Anglicism .

The usually closed bow is made accessible by additional seats; however, it is often possible to close the bow with the appropriate molded parts supplied by the manufacturer. Pleasure boats of this type offer a more generous number of seats, but this also leads to a smaller number of closed storage spaces.

The open bow can have a negative impact on seaworthiness, as it can fill up when it comes over high waves. This danger exists mainly in displacement travel and with incorrect loading, i.e. bow-heavy trim . The bow is therefore also designed in a self-draining construction.
