openfunds is a registered association based in Zurich that maintains a global standard for fund data. The standard itself is subject to a Creative Commons license (Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License; CC BY-ND 4.0) and is therefore “ open content ”.

The openfunds data standard developed by the non-profit initiative is intended to enable the automated and efficient exchange of fund data. In the current version 1.23, over 500 individual data fields are precisely specified and clearly identified with an identification number, the so-called openfunds ID.

The openfunds initiative was launched in 2015. In January 2017, the openfunds association was founded by UBS AG , Credit Suisse AG , Bank Julius Bär & Co. AG and fundinfo AG.
