Operation Center is a shareware - file manager for Microsoft Windows .

General

Operation Center is a program package consisting of a file manager, photo management and maintenance functions. It also has an FTP client, a ZIP packer, an editor - which can also be used as a word processing program - as well as numerous file management functions such as copying, moving, deleting, cleaning up the hard drive, etc.

History

Operation Center was written by Jochen Moschko (* 1979). The first version appeared in August 1997, the second in May 1998. Since version 4.5 (May 1999) the program has two file windows. Since then, the two file windows plus the quick view bar have been characteristic of the program. There were also versions for Windows CE (3.0 - 4.2). However, this series will no longer be developed. Version 7.7, 8.5 and 9.X were also available in retail stores. In December 2016 it was announced that the software was nominated for the Victor 2017 by WEKA Media Publishing .

Current

Since version 11 (released in May 2013) the software has also been optimized for touchscreens and tablets. A restricted SE version is also offered, which z. B. the ComputerBild 02/14 enclosed. Every major release is usually preceded by a public beta test, including version 15, which the manufacturer markets as "Operation Center x64 Professional". A severely restricted version is available for Android, but it only has a few functions from the Windows version.

Technical

The manufacturer offers programmers and software developers the opportunity to write so-called “ plug-ins ” for operation centers that can be built on this platform. It does not matter which programming language is used for this. The specifications can be found in the Help system under “Information for Developers”, including a code example for Visual Basic 2013.
