Linda Lorraine "Lindy" Cochran (born July 10, 1953 in Richmond , Vermont ) is a former American ski racer . She is the youngest of the legendary Cochran siblings who dominated American skiing from the late 1960s to the mid 1970s. Like her older siblings Marilyn , Barbara and Bob , she was trained to be a world-class skier by her ski-loving parents in the family-owned ski resort in northern Vermont.

Cochran joined the US national ski team in 1970. By then, her three siblings had all already celebrated international success. Lindy Cochran won her first major title in 1973 when she became US slalom champion. Almost a year later she achieved the best World Cup placement of her career with second place in the slalom of Les Gets .

The 1975/76 season was her most successful year when she won her second US championship title in giant slalom and was the best-placed runner of the US Ski Association at the Winter Olympics in Innsbruck with a sixth place in slalom .

In 1978, Lindy Cochran resigned from the national team and continued to work for the University of Vermont ski team until 1981 . Today she lives with her husband Steve Kelley in Starksboro (Vermont) and works as a ski instructor. Her daughter Jessica Kelley and her sons Tim Kelley and Robby Kelley also became ski racers.
