She celebrated the greatest success of her career at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo , when, in an extremely tight decision, with just 0.02 seconds ahead of Danièle Debernard , she became the Olympic champion in slalom on February 11th (0.03 seconds in the first run. before Debernard, in the second run by 0.01 sec. slower). She had previously won the silver medal in slalom at the Alpine World Ski Championships in 1970 in Val Gardena .
She won three races in the Ski World Cup , plus 9 second and 6 third places.
