Esmé MacKinnon (born December 2, 1913 in Edinburgh , † July 9, 1999 ) was a British ski racer . She went down in the history of alpine skiing as the first female world champion . At the World Championships in Mürren in 1931 she won all competitions - in addition to slalom and downhill , MacKinnon also won the two non-officially rated competitions, the combination and the long downhill ...
At the time, MacKinnon was in slalom 17 years, 2 months and 17 days young, one day older in the downhill - despite this, she remained the youngest downhill world champion of all time until today (January 2018), while she was replaced in the slalom on February 8, 1974 by Hanni Wenzel .

At the Arlberg-Kandahar race in 1933, also in Mürren, Esmé MacKinnon won the slalom and the combination.
