Madeleine Berthod (born February 1, 1931 in Château-d'Oex ) is a former Swiss ski racer .

At the 1954 World Championships in Åre , she won the silver medal in giant slalom and combined . In 1956 she was at the Olympic Games champion in the downhill ; this race also counted as a world championship run. Before that, she had hit one of the first goals wrongly in the giant slalom, which is why she had to step back and forgive the sure victory.
In the combination, for which there were no Olympic medals, she also became world champion. During the same period she celebrated eight victories at the SDS races in Grindelwald, was third in slalom on January 5, 1956 and third in combination (as well as fourth in slalom and sixth downhill) on 8/9. January 1959 (meanwhile her name was Chamot-Berthod) and slalom and downhill third on January 6th and 8th, 1960. In
1955 she won the downhill and combination of the Harriman Cup. At the Kandahar race in Sestriere , she was second in the descent and winner in slalom and combined (March 9/10, 1956). At the “Gornergrat Derby” in Zermatt she came second in downhill, slalom and combined (March 16/17, 1956) and third in the “Long Downhill” on March 18, 1956. She also came second in the slalom in Crans Montana on February 16, 1958. At the Kandahar competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , she was second on the downhill on February 6, 1959, followed by third place in the downhill in Chamonix on February 20, 1959.
