Fabienne Serrat (born July 5, 1956 in Le Bourg-d'Oisans ) is a former French ski racer . She was one of the most successful female racers in the Ski World Cup in the 1970s and early 1980s .
Career
She celebrated the first highlight of her long career as a 17-year-old at the 1974 World Cup in St. Moritz , both in the giant slalom , in which she defeated the German Traudl Treichl and relegated to second place, and in the combination in which she Hanni Wenzel (2nd place) and Monika Kaserer (3rd place) defeated, won the gold medal. She won a bronze medal in Alpine Combined at the 1978 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen .
For many years she consistently achieved podiums in slalom and giant slalom. At the 1980 Olympic Games in Lake Placid , she narrowly lost the battle for bronze in the giant slalom against her compatriot Perrine Pelen . In the Ski World Cup she won three races, came second 16 times and third 18 times. From 1973 to 1983 she was French champion 13 times .
In 1984 Fabienne Serrat resigned. She is married to the former Swiss ski racer and overall World Cup winner Peter Lüscher . They have a daughter and a son together.
