Rosa "Ossi" Reichert (born December 25, 1925 in Gunzesried ; † July 16, 2006 there ) was a German ski racer . Reichert was one of the German sports aces of the 1950s and was Olympic champion in giant slalom at the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo . She was the first German Olympic ski champion after the Second World War .

The enthusiasm for winter sports flourished in her early youth. In his native Allgäu , Ossi Reichert had plenty of opportunities for skiing. On her local mountain, the Ofterschwanger Horn , she completed an arduous training session. She took part in the Olympic Winter Games in Oslo in 1952 and won the silver medal in the slalom behind the American Andrea Mead-Lawrence (2: 10.6 min.) 0.8 seconds behind. Reichert's teammate Annemarie Buchner won the bronze medal. Two years later she won the slalom of the SDS races in Grindelwald , before an ankle injury gave her a long break and threatened to end her career prematurely. After a successful recovery, Reichert surprisingly came first in the giant slalom at the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo . Ossi Reichert (1: 56.5 min.) Took 1.3 seconds off Austrian Josefa Frandl in the race. The West German won the only gold medal for the all-German team at the 1956 Winter Games. In the same year, the Allgäu was three times German champion in slalom, giant slalom and combination. After the end of her sporting career, the innkeeper's daughter took care of her parents' hotel in Gunzesried. A ski lift and a downhill run in the Allgäu Hörnergruppe are named after Ossi Reichert .

For her sporting success she was awarded the silver bay leaf on March 11, 1952 .
