Operation Garikai / Hlalani Kuhle
The operation Garikai / Hlalani Kuhle ( Shona for "For a better life") presented in August 2005 an attempt by the Zimbabwean government of President Robert Mugabe is the impact of the clean-up as part of Operation Murambatsvina to bring under control.
A report by Anna Tibaijuka , the Executive Director of the United Nations Housing and Settlement Program ( UN-Habitat ) and special envoy of the then UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan , showed that the measures go far from providing accommodation and housing for those affected were removed. On the other hand, only reception camps were set up as a transition station, but they quickly developed into the final destination for the displaced.
