optiset is a series of system telephones for the U P0 interfaces of Siemens Hicom and HiPath telephone systems. They cannot be connected directly to either analog or ISDN connections .

Devices of the optiset series are:

  • optiset Base, a simple system device with 2 × 24 character text display and 8 programmable function keys
  • optiset memory; has an 8-line display and an integrated electronic phone book for several 100 names / numbers (called ENB at Siemens)

The devices of the optiset series were z. B. used for the early Hicom 100 systems (Hicom 116) and were also supported by the Hicom 150.

The series was replaced by optiset E , in which the display (if available) is mounted so that it can be swiveled. The optiset E series devices can still be found in many Hicom installations.

Devices from this series are:

  • optiset E entry - a very simple digital device with 3 function keys, without display and loudspeaker
  • optiset E basic - a slightly better equipped device in the same format, with open listening and 8 function keys, 1 expansion slot on the bottom
  • optiset E standard - probably the best-known device from the series with 12 function keys, 2-line display and hands-free calling
  • optiset E comfort - with two expansion slots on the bottom and better hands-free function
  • optiset E conference - with a better microphone and loudspeaker
  • optiset E memory - with 8-line display, integrated electronic phone book and complete QWERTY keyboard.

Additional key modules can be connected to the optiset E advance and memory telephones. B. can be assigned phone numbers or functions.
