The oratorian collar is a white split shirt collar that protrudes over a black buttonless vest. It takes its name from the priestly community of the Oratorians , where it first appeared and became typical.

In Germany this collar shape is also called Guardini collar after the theologian Romano Guardini , who is close to the oratorios .

Today, the oratorian collar, along with the collar, is one of the forms of clothing that characterize the Roman Catholic priest and that is prescribed for him in Roman and diocesan pronouncements.
