Oriental Island is an approximately 160 m long island in the archipelago of the Heard and McDonald Islands in the southern Indian Ocean . It is located in Cave Bay on Heard Island .
It is named after the American merchant ship Oriental under Captain John Heard , who discovered Heard on November 25, 1853 from aboard the ship.
