Orthogonal Variable Spreading Factor Code ( OVSF , German: orthogonal spreading code of variable length) is a term from communications technology and characterizes a method for separating different signals at variable data transmission rates . OVSF is in CDMA - downlink z. B. used in UMTS .

OVSF codes have a low correlation to one another as long as no delay time differences or echoes occur in the transmission channel.
