Local chapel of Kleinkirchberg
The local chapel Small Kirchberg is a west-facing and St. Anthony of Padua dedicated Roman Catholic neo-Gothic chapel in the village of Klein Kirchberg in the market town of Sitzendorf an der Schmida in the district of Hollabrunn in Lower Austria and is under monument protection .
Building description
Outside
The chapel, built in 1902 on the so-called main square of Kleinkirchberg, is closed off in the east by a gabled facade. This is structured by corner pilasters and a gable cornice. A pointed arch portal with a lattice gate opens up the interior. In the gable is a figural niche with a statue of the Virgin Mary from around 1900. The gable is closed off by a squat, compact roof turret crowned with a simple cross.
The chapel room, enclosed by a gable roof, has simple facades with pointed arched windows.
In the west rises above the apse the 13.5 meter high tower, which is closed by a pointed helmet with a crowning cross over a tower ball . The tower facade is structured by a corner cuboid and a circumferential roof cornice and is broken through by ogival, plaster-framed sound windows. There is a segment arch portal on the south side .
Inside
The flat interior has lancet windows on the sides. The apse is closed by an apse dome .
Furnishing
A statue of St. Anthony with the baby Jesus, flanked by angels, dates from the early 18th century.
