The name Otger means:

  • St. Otger (also Otgerus, Odgerus), Anglo-Saxon deacon - late 7th century and early 8th century. The parish church of St. Otger (Stadtlohn) in Stadtlohn and (together with Plechelmus and Wiro) the basilica in Sint Odiliënberg are dedicated to him.
  • Otgar von Mainz (also Otger, Autgar) - Archbishop of Mainz from 826 to 847.
  • Otgar von Speyer (also Otger) - Bishop of Speyer from 962 to 970, † August 13, 970.
  • Otger - royal messenger of violence in Carinthia; Founder of the Ossiach Monastery, † before 1028.
