history
The Ours de Villard-de-Lans were founded in 1931. Their greatest success in the period before the 2000s, apart from two junior championship titles in 1983 and 1986, was winning the Coupe de France in 1977. The team was able to repeat this triumph in 2003 after 26 years when the Orques d ' Anglet was able to defeat 3-2 after a shootout. The team had previously won the championship in second-rate Division 1 twice in a row.
Since the promotion in 2002 Villard-de-Lans always played first class. In the first two seasons, the team reached places seven and six. The playoff mode was then introduced following the regular season and Villard-de-Lans clearly missed making it into the playoffs in eleventh place. In the 2005/06 season, the Ours retired after a seventh place in the regular season in the round of 16, while they reached the quarter-finals a year later. In the 2007/08 season, an eighth place in the regular season followed in the qualifying round.
