from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

PL / S is an IBM mainframe programming language derived from PL / I in the late 1960s for IBM S / 360 , IBM S / 370 and IBM S / 390 systems , among others . Initially it was used for low-level software, later also for application software. PL / S allows inline assembly language and thus direct control over the hardware, such as registers, program status word etc.
