Paddle jacket

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A paddle jacket is a jacket made of a waterproof material that was specially made for paddling in a canoe or canoe . Modern paddle jackets are made of a waterproof, but also highly breathable material. Paddle jackets differ from rain and waterproof outdoor jackets mainly in the special protection of the openings against penetrating water.

Practically all models now have (often adjustable) neoprene cuffs on the arms . High-quality jackets usually have elastic cuffs under the neoprene cuffs to increase the tightness of the jacket. A paddle jacket usually has a neoprene cuff on the neck and sometimes a latex neck cuff (which makes it quite difficult to put on and take off). The fireplace (lower part of the jacket) are mostly provided simple paddle jackets with an elastic band, the more expensive have a neoprene gain and very high-quality jackets are duplicated to a spray skirt to wear (only Spraydecks without carrier) optimal.
