history

Sultan F. Hussain became the first general secretary of the association in 1953 and Nawab Mamdot became the first president . Internationally, the association first appeared at the Thomas Cup in 1954/1955 . Soon after it was founded, the Pakistan Badminton Federation also became a member of the Badminton World Federation , then known as the International Badminton Federation . The federation also became a member of the Badminton Asia Confederation . The federation is also a member of the Pakistan Sports Board . After a steady upswing, badminton sport stagnated in the country in the 1990s. In the new millennium, a new management team in the association is working harder to improve the situation. The situation came to a head again in 2010 when two badminton associations were newly founded, but were declared illegal by the NOC of Pakistan.
