Palazzo Beneventano del Bosco
The Palazzo Beneventano del Bosco is a late baroque aristocratic palace in the Sicilian city of Syracuse and is located on the Piazza Duomo.
history
The Palazzo Beneventano del Bosco was built by Luciano Alì between 1779 and 1788. The palazzo is a late creation but does not yet show any signs of classicism. At the rear end of the courtyard is one of the most beautiful open staircases in all of Sicily. Its arcades , now walled up or glazed, opened onto a second courtyard at the back of the palazzo. The staircase must once have been the culmination of one of the most perfect creations of the Sicilian Baroque .
This palazzo housed Admiral Nelson and King Ferdinand IV of Bourbon .
