Dad china

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Papa china ( German Chinese potato ) is a popular name from Ecuador for edible tubers , which when cooked or roasted make a starch- rich food that has been used by the South American Indians of the tropics since ancient times.

The tubers can come from two completely different types of plants, both of which belong to the arum family (Araceae):

  • Taro ( Colocasia esculenta ) -and-
  • Tannia ( Xanthosoma sagittifolium )
