Papallacta

Papallacta is a town in the Ecuadorian province of Napo . It has been a municipality ( parróquia ) since 1921 and is now part of the canton of Quijos in the province of Napo.
Papallacta is about 60 km east of the capital Quito , is 3300 m above sea level and has about 800 inhabitants. From there it can be reached via the Papallacta pass of the same name (4064 m high). The place is known for its thermal baths , which are located on the mountainside, about 300 meters above the place.
