Papyrus Leipzig 39

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Papyrus Leipzig 39 (Siglum 2013 after Rahlfs ) is a fragment of a papyrus roll from the 4th century.

It contains parts of Psalms 30 to 55 in Greek . Psalms 30 to 34 are only preserved in badly damaged fragments. The text was likely written in the late 4th century on the back of a papyrus scroll that had a document from 338 on the front. With the Papyrus London 37 it is the only surviving example of an Upper Egyptian version of the Psalms in Greek. The fragments are now in the papyrus collection of the Leipzig University Library , signature P. Lips. Inv. 39. They have been digitized.
