Paragone is an art and literary magazine that was founded in 1950 by the Italian art historian Roberto Longhi and his wife, the writer Anna Banti , and is published monthly in Florence. With the choice of the name a reference to the art theoretical term Paragone was established.

The magazine is divided into the art magazine Paragone. Arte and the literary magazine Paragone. Letteratura that appear alternately. The artistic department was headed by Longhi until his death in 1970, while the literary department was overseen by an editorial team. Significant authors such as Pier Paolo Pasolini could be won over for the collaboration . Giorgio Bassani was one of the editors . After the magazine's publisher changed, it is now published by the Sansoni publishing house in Florence .
