Parapet (French, derived from Italian parare , protect 'and petto , breast') is an alternative term for:

  • Parapet , a protective wall in the fortress construction and a protective wall in the field fortifications
  • Parapet , in civil construction the piece of wall between the floor and the lower edge of the window
  • Parapet fields or parapets for short are derived from facade elements below the windows, which often connect the rows of windows vertically
