Pardösü
The Pardösü ( Turkish from French : par dessus , "above") is a women's outerwear widespread in Turkey that complies with the Islamic body cover regulations ( hijab ). The Pardösü is a mostly wide cut, floor-length coat . The Pardösü can have a wide variety of colors. It is sometimes also offered in a tailored form .
A headscarf is also worn. Wearing a face veil ( niqab ) with the pardosu is not common. Another Turkish form of the hijab, namely a floor-length robe with a face veil, is the Çarşaf .
In Germany and Europe, the Pardösü spread especially since the mid-1980s. Before that, the clothing of Muslim women of Turkish origin was mostly a rural Turkish costume .
