Park Synagogue
The Park Synagogue is a synagogue of the community Anshe Emeth Beth Tefilo in Cleveland Heights , a suburb of Cleveland in Ohio . It was built by the German-Jewish architect Erich Mendelsohn .
After parts of the buildings of the Jewish community burned down in Cleveland Heights in 1945, Rabbi Armond E. Cohen (1909–2007), who was the community's rabbi from 1934 to 1994, commissioned Erich Mendelsohn to build a new synagogue. The building was erected from 1947 and inaugurated in 1950.
The building served as a stimulus for further modern synagogues, such as the New Synagogue in Essen .
