The Parkers Pepping or Rabau called, is one of the leather apples as well as the winter apples counting apple variety of culture apple .

origin

The Parkers Pepping was introduced by an English horticultural society in the early 19th century. It is still sold today by some tree nurseries .

properties

The small to medium-sized, round apple has a skin that is usually completely covered with gray-brown rust . Otherwise it has a greenish-yellow, slightly reddish skin facing the sun. The pulp is initially green-yellow, and as the fruit ripens, it also becomes yellow-white. the taste is slightly tart, sweet and spicy.

Parkers Pepping is ready to be picked in mid to late October. However, it is only ready for consumption after it has been stored for around two months and can then be stored until April with little storage loss.

The tree grows slowly and forms a small, broadly rounded crown. It bears fruit often and abundantly, even if the owner of pruning does not understand much. It makes little demands on the soil and climate and, if the soil is abundantly moist, also grows in higher altitudes. The Parkers Pepping is quite disease resistant and stormproof.
