Parmenides Foundation

The Parmenides Foundation is an institution for research , teaching and development that cooperates with the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich . Its aim is to advance multidisciplinary research into human thought. It is named after Parmenides von Elea , a Greek philosopher. It was founded by the philosopher Albrecht von Müller in 2000. It is based in Pullach in the Isar valley .

At the University of Munich, the foundation offers a number of courses on thinking. The research area works closely with scientists from the institutes for medical psychology, developmental psychology and philosophy at the University of Munich.

The research institute Parmenides Center for the Study of Thinking is part of the foundation . The purpose of the foundation is interdisciplinary research into the ability of complex thinking in collaboration with leading scientists from neurosciences and philosophy, neuroinformatics and cognitive psychology, linguistics and evolutionary anthropology .

In addition, the Parmenides Foundation sells the "EIDOS Suite", formerly known as the Think Tools Suite from Think Tools AG .
