history

The reason for the establishment of the label by Andy Widder was to release records by rockabilly bands that traveled through Germany in 1992 without a record deal or distribution. The first records were presented by King Rats (USA / Sweden), Billy & the Lucky Boys (D), Gate Crashers (D), Mason Dixon Hobos (D), Mess of Booze and Rough'n'Tumble (D).

From 1994 the magazine Dynamite! - The World Of Rock'n'Roll published by Andy Widder, the enclosed vinyl single (from issue 46 then a longplay CD) was coordinated and released by Part Records. In 1996 Part Records was strengthened by the music publisher Part Record Publishing, which worked together with Thomas Ritter's Hamburg Elbmusikverlag from 1996 to 2000. By releasing bands from Sweden (Go Getters), Spain (Nu Niles), Belgium (Be Bops), England (Greggie G & his Crazy Gang), Racketeers (USA), Billy Bros. Jumpin 'Orchestra (Italy), the Barnshakers (Finland) a larger radius of effectiveness and level of awareness was achieved, through which the German bands became better known.

Since 2004, Part Records productions for Germany, Austria and Switzerland have been distributed by the independent label Broken Silence in Hamburg. In 2012 a sub-label (Sideburn Music) was founded, which specializes in punk'n'roll bands.
