Pathobiochemistry

As an offshoot of biochemistry, pathobiochemistry is the science that deals with the changes in the biochemical processes in the human body during illness. Thus a kind of mixture of biochemistry, pathology and pathophysiology .

Because the changes are often caused by toxicologically active substances, pathobiochemistry is also closely related to toxicology . In particular, the metabolism of foreign substances is considered.
