Patrimonialism
Patrimonialism is a term whose modern meaning was defined by Max Weber . He used it as a description of a political system based on administrative and military structures, which in turn are bound by the instructions of an autocratic ruler . Examples of patrimonial states include Indonesia under Suharto or the Philippines under Ferdinand Marcos .
