The Patriotic Welfare Movement , French Mouvement Patriotique de Salut (abbreviation MPS ), is a political party in Chad .

Its chairman is President Idriss Déby , who has been in power since 1990 .

The party developed from Déby's former rebel army, the FPS, which invaded N'Djamena in December 1990 and drove out the dictator Hissen Habré . After he came to power, Déby founded the MPS, which in addition to his FPS also included other opposition groups.

The MPS has been the strongest group in parliament since 1990. It ruled several times in coalitions with smaller parties, including the Rally for Democracy and Progress, and currently holds 108 of 155 parliamentary seats.
