Pedography: e.g. feet

Pedography (also podography , pedobarography ) is the digital representation of the pressure load on the foot while standing or walking in the form of a podogram. It is a method of gait analysis . Foot pressure measurement systems enable the recording and digital representation of the pressure load during the stance phase. The immediate determination of the pressure distribution of the respective foot means that the data are directly available for diagnosis and documentation.

Pedography is used by the orthopedic surgeon for diagnostics and the orthopedic technician and orthopedic shoemaker for the production of orthopedic shoe insoles.

Dynamic analysis methods are different from static in that they (not just the possible misalignments fallen arches , flat feet , skew foot , flat feet , bunions , ...) include in therapy planning, but also observe the extent to which individual control of the muscles not yet a Stabilization of the sequence of movements leads (= functional approach).

The method is used in the clinical area (diagnostic instrument for the preparation of therapy plans for an individual patient), or in the context of medical / biomechanical research.
