Dipstick

The term dipstick means:

  • a mostly two-colored pole in surveying technology, closely related to the leveling staff
  • colloquially an oil dipstick
  • a fixed or extendable pen as a driving and parking aid to avoid collisions in motor vehicles
  • in the combination "electronic dipstick", a measuring device based on a pressure sensor, for example, to determine the level of liquid containers, see fuel gauge
