Benedikt Balthasar Herrlein (* approx. 1750; † 1809 in Diebach near Hammelburg ) was a Catholic priest and poet .

Life

So far nothing has been found about Herrlein’s origins and youth. From his enrollment as a poetics student at the Latin School in Hammelburg (the artist pre -school of the University of Fulda , predecessor of the Frobenius-Gymnasium Hammelburg ) on February 6, 1766, it can be concluded that he was born around 1750 and belongs to the Herrlein family of painters . He completed his subsequent studies in Fulda on June 14, 1769. From 1779 to 1790 he was professor of Latin, Greek and German at the grammar school in Fulda, and since 1787 professor of geography there.
