Canoe polo playing field

A penalty is given if the defending team prevents an almost certain goal by dangerous or deliberate foul play . This includes throwing at the goal, passing on a teammate and positioning for the throw.

If the goal-preventing foul takes place outside the six-meter area in front of the goal, a penalty should only be given if the goal is not defended.

A penalty is also given if an attacker is intentionally or dangerously disturbed while taking a free shot in the six-meter area.

procedure

A player from the disadvantaged team positions himself on the six-meter line in front of the free goal. He then indicates that he is ready to throw by holding the ball in the air. After the referee has released the ball with a whistle, the player tries to throw a goal. The remaining players of both teams must be in the other half of the field and may only intervene after the whistle.

If the ball is thrown too short, the kicker may only play the ball again after another player has touched the ball. If he hits the goal frame, he can pick up the ball and try again, but play continues and the defenders may try to prevent it.
