The Pension Fund Canton Solothurn (PKSO), based in Solothurn, is an independent Swiss pension fund under public law . It insures the state staff of the canton of Solothurn , the teachers of the Solothurn canton, vocational and elementary schools as well as the employees of the companies affiliated with it under the 2nd pillar .

The Canton Solothurn Pension Fund was created in 1957 from the merger of the Pension Fund for the Solothurn State Staff , the Roth Foundation and the Pension Fund of the Cantonal School .

Until December 31, 2014, the name was "Cantonal Pension Fund Solothurn". Due to the referendum on the occasion of the vote on September 28, 2014, the main variant of the PKG was adopted. The new pension fund law came into force at the beginning of 2015. In connection with this, the name was changed to “Pension Fund Canton Solothurn”.

At the end of 2015, 183 employers were affiliated with her, 70 of them with affiliation contracts with a total of 11,579 actively insured persons and 5,225 beneficiaries. The investments amounted to 4.5 billion Swiss francs at the end of 2015.

The highest body of the Pension Fund Canton Solothurn is the Administrative Commission, consisting of 14 members and one representative of the retirees with the right to submit applications, but without voting rights. This is composed equally of seven employer and seven employee representatives. The government council elects the representatives of the employers, with the exception of the representatives of the primary schools, which are designated by the association of Solothurn municipalities. The operational business is managed by the director.
