The People's National Convention ( PNC ) is a political party in Ghana that is also represented in parliament. The PNC was only officially approved in 1992 with the fourth and current constitution of Ghana . In the last parliamentary elections on December 7, 2004, four of Ghana's 230 parliamentary seats were won by the People's National Convention.

The Ghanaian suffrage is a majority suffrage , which usually favors two parties. The parliamentary seats are assigned by direct election in constituencies.

Edward Mahama , chairman of the People's National Convention was also a candidate in the 2004 presidential election. He received 1.9% of the vote and did not make it into the runoff election for the two best candidates. In 2000 and 1996, the PNC and Mahama ran unsuccessfully in the presidential elections. A change in strategy in 2004 resulted in Mahama forming a Grand Coalition. The PNC joined forces with Every Ghanaian Living Everywhere (EGLE) and the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP). Nevertheless, Mahama was clearly defeated by the later President John Agyekum Kufuor .

The party's logo consists of red, white and green. A white circle with a stylized green palm tree is depicted in the middle on a red square background. The words "Eye Kube" are also shown in white under the white circle.
