The People's Theater association from the city and district of Offenbach has set itself the goal of promoting personal and social skills in young people and children, contributing to violence prevention and initiating integration processes. The association is non-profit, bahá'í -inspired and an independent organization for child and youth welfare. An essential instrument is the People's Theater Show , which treats conflicts in an entertaining way with the help of talk show and theater elements, with the aim of working out positive solutions together with the audience.

The People's Theater Show

The 45 to 60 minute long show focuses on a mini-drama in which a social conflict is depicted in a short theater scene. As soon as the conflict threatens to escalate, a moderator stops the play. Through specific questions, the causes of the conflict are worked out with the audience and options for action are developed. Individual viewers then swap actors and play through the various possible solutions. At the end, the actors play a summarizing possible course of action, in which as many suggestions as possible from the audience are incorporated.

People's Theater offers around 10–15 young people between the ages of 18–25 years of age to live together and to work full-time for one year of their lives in the service of society in order to carry out the shows and other social projects. This is an offer for young school leavers who want to do a voluntary social year or an internship before starting their training or studying. The aim of the year is for both the young people and the participants in the People's Theater projects to become more socially and self-competent in order to have a positive impact on society.
