Performance data computer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Performance Data Computer ( PDC for short ) is an on-board computer system in aircraft. PDC was the forerunner of the Flight Management System and, after entering various variables such as B. aircraft weight, wind, temperature enable the most economical operation of the aircraft. To do this, the computer calculated, among other things, the optimal flight altitudes and speeds, which helped the crew to make decisions about the flight. It was possible to switch the PDC directly to the autopilot.
