Period length

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Period length can stand for:

  • Period (cryptology) , number of characters after which an alphabet used for encryption is repeated
  • Period (physics) , in the case of regularly repeating physical phenomena, the smallest temporal or spatial interval after which the process is repeated: period duration , wavelength
  • Length of a partial sequence of a sequence until this partial sequence is repeated, see periodic sequence . A special case of this is the length of the period of the decimal fraction expansion of a fraction.
