from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to legend, Perpetua was a Roman matron and saint . Their historical existence is considered very dubious.

Perpetua is said to have been baptized by Peter himself and then also converted her husband Africanus and her son Nazarius to Christianity before she is said to have died around the year 80. In Milan who worked Saints Nazarius and Perpetua is consequently particularly revered in Milan, but Nazario died only during the Diocletian persecution of Christians by 303, so that a connection to his mother with Peter is chronologically impossible. According to the Roman Martyrology , her bones are said to have been in Rome , alleged relics of Perpetua are kept in Milan and Cremona .

The saint's feast day is August 4th .
