Personal certification

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the case of personal certification, the applicant's competencies and qualifications are checked and assessed for compliance with the existing certification program; knowledge and skills are checked.

Certification bodies

In Germany, the certification bodies can be accredited by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS). The DAkkS was founded by the Federal Republic of Germany, represented by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), and carries out accreditations in the various areas. One of the areas is the accreditation of certification bodies for persons according to DIN EN ISO / IEC 17024. The standard DIN EN ISO / IEC 17024 defines internationally recognized requirements for a certification body.

In Austria, certification bodies are accredited by the Federal Ministry of Digitization and Business Location.

Legal regulations on personal certification

The German legislator decided in 2009 with the enactment of the Accreditation Body Act and the introduction of Section 36 GewO to establish two quality assurance systems in Germany on a legal basis. Since 2009, the chambers no longer have a monopoly with regard to the officially monitored quality assurance of experts; the legislature has created a competitive situation here for the benefit of the consumer.
