Pestemal
A pestemal ( Turkish pestamal , German hamam cloth ) is a traditional Turkish cloth that is used in the oriental steam bath hammam . The pestemal is usually very light and very absorbent.
A real pestemal is made exclusively from cotton . At the beginning of the bath, the guest receives it together with a bar of soap and a hammam bowl (tas).
Men use it as a loincloth in the hammam; Ladies use it as a wrap for body covering.
